two blogs for the price of one

sunday, april 13
yesterday was a good day. and i need to apologize that i don't have much more to tell you than that since i didn't get a chance to blog last night. i think one of the funniest moments was alex telling us that dimetap wasn't junk food b/c it was good for you.
.
my trek through psalms continued as i attempted to catch up on my 90-day reading plan. my favorite section was psalms 119:33-40: "teach me, o lord, to follow your decrees; then i will keep them to the end. give me understanding, and i will keep your law and obey it with all my heart. direct me in the path of your commands, for there i find delight. turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared. take away the disgrace i dread, for your laws are good. how i long for your precepts! preserve my life in your righteousness."

so the big thought of my day today was some marriage advice, which would probably offend most. now i should probably explain up front that my coming up with this advice had nothing to do with my current state... honestly. i'm happy with my family and secure in my marriage, and god keeps me there. but if you're having trouble in your marriage, and you're thinking about hooking up with that co-worker two isles down in the cubicle on the left, find a new job. i'm not saying this just to get you away from that person, but you need a new job in which keeps you extremely busy b/c you (a) don't know what you're doing and (b) are stressed like mad. coming home will seem like heaven. now my job's not that bad, but coming home does seem like heaven. i want you to have that feeling too. anyway, i'm not sure that is really sound advice, but that's what was going through my head for a good part of the day.
.
so sonja's slightly sick. we've been talking about germs and the places you can get them. i think we have her convinced that she picked one up from mcdonald's. so when i was discussing this with alex, i said, "yep, we probably shouldn't go to mcdonald's anymore," to which she replied, "yes! we can go through the drive thru." sheesh... smart little cookie!
.
well, i'm not sure i've given you much food for thought, but i pray god will lead you to some real truth today.
