investing in blogging

today was 2/3 tough, 1/3 good... maybe that's the right ratio. who knows?
.
work was work really. it wasn't a bad day there, but wasn't the best. i'm convinced the best day i've ever had at the office has come and gone, but i'm not sure i can put my finger on what day that actually was. there's something about being stuck in your job that's just not very fulfilling. i'm stuck.
.
it was nice to be home, though sarah wasn't feeling well. i felt bad that me and seth planned to play some disc golf tonight, but she still allowed me to go even though i had my phone out and ready to dial seth to call it off. what a trooper! she loves me... no doubt! so leaving for the evening didn't give me much time with the girls either. i had to remove sonja from the markers as she was pretending to smoke them. so she went upstairs of her own accord, turned on some disney music, got out a book (or two) and sat in her new chair. so i barely saw her. alex was a monkey, but it was nice to see her a little before heading out. i wanted to be with sarah as much as possible before i left since she wasn't feeling good. since sonja holed herself upstairs for the evening, i ended up getting to see more of alex.
.
disc golf was good, especially since i haven't gotten to hang with seth much lately. i scored a 5+ out in medina, which isn't bad for me considering we played most of the long tees. but it was just good to get out and chat with a good friend.
.
sarah still wasn't feeling well when i got home, so hopefully she can get in to see the doctor tomorrow. it's no fun having a sick wife.
.
since i didn't read my bible today, i'm not going to post a picture either. but one thing i'd like to share that i realized tonight driving home from seth's is that i 'love' money. i dwell on it way to much. i keep looking to the future in hope based on where i am now rather than just living for now (since, as the bible tells us, that's all we have anyway) and letting god take care of later (again, since the bible tells us we aren't even guaranteed tomorrow). why plan when i don't even know what tomorrow is going to bring? obviously it's not bad to keep the future in mind, but when i'm letting it run my life, i need to back off. and since i keep worrying about money and where we'll be next week, next month, next year, i'm letting money run my life... i 'love' money. instead, i need to focus my love to god, and invest in him rather than trying to invest in my 401k. again, it's not bad to have a retirement fund, but it does you no good if you're not investing moreso in christ. if you're not investing more into christ than your money, and your money is gone tomorrow, then eternity is a pretty dire retirement situation to be in. invest in christ.
.
this is ben. out.
