i started off my day getting turned down by my boss for a team leader position. in my eyes, i'm ready for the next step, but i don't make those decisions in corporate america.
.
so my day was long, and my brain officially retired for the day around 3:30, which makes the remaining 1-1.5 hours painful.
.
sarah made excellent chicken for dinner, and then we went and kicked the soccer ball around. when sonja decided she wanted to play "mother may i", i decided it was time for me to go try the contraption i had invented out of old fencing to help drag the rocks out of our dirt yard. it didn't work, so i resorted to picked up rocks by hand. i'm about 5% of the way done with the dirt patch. alex helped me a bit while sarah went inside with sonja who somewhat grumpily decided she wanted to go to bed. i think it's cool that she noticed she was getting tired and wanted to turn in for the day voluntarily.
.
after they hit the hay, i tried to do some photo editing for a disc golf "ad" for the men at church. i'm not sure it's going to turn out the way i'd like (see below), so i'll probably end up sneaking over to the neighboring golf course and take a shot.
.
and that's it. my day's over just in time to start a new one.
.
favorite bible verse read today: "'the days are coming,' declares the lord, 'when i will punish all who are circumcised only in the flesh - egypt, judah, edom, ammon, moab and all who live in the desert in distant places. for all these nations are really uncircumcised, and even the whole house of israel is uncircumcised in heart.'" (jeremiah 9:25-26) - when will we realize that it has nothing to do with what we do on the outside? it's important to do those things out of obedience to god, but god sees the heart as more important. if you do things without the heart peace, you're working in vain, which seems to anger god by the sounds of things in the first 10 chapters of jeremiah. my words: go. do. but love most of all. a deep love from the pit of your soul. don't do without it.
.
a picture... i think this is as far as i'll take it. the left piece is what i was shooting for; the right is just the parts i wanted to throw in. i wanted to do something like this for all the hundreds of people who have no idea what disc golf is. and incase you're one of them, this isn't it:
