work was another day, so i'll spare you the details. so let's get down to it, shall we?
.
what's been plaguing me the last couple of days is evolution. i understand how scientists come to the conclusion we come from monkeys. my brain feels this is a stretch, but okay, i'll bite. but i can't figure out how the different sexes evolved. what's interesting, is neither can scientists. here's an interesting read, which i think says a lot. basically, they can't answer everything, and it's admitted that 'we may never know the answer'. so when i say, 'i'm not sure. we'll have to ask god when we get to heaven someday,' i shouldn't be criticized for giving a cliche cop out. anyway, check it out: http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/1999-11/942765033.Ev.r.html.
.
sarah and i had a good 'date night'. a pot of coffee and gender/sex evolution discussion. you may think i'm crazy, but this is good time spent together talking about things which matter. our passions come out, and we get to share with one another who we really are and the truths we believe.
.
speaking of christian cliches, i read the following in the book of job. i think it's cool b/c job hits some pretty deep thoughts on god's greatness. none of this 'wow god, your mountains are large and your oceans are vast.' delve in to job 26:6-14: "death is naked before god; destruction lies uncovered. he spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing. he wraps up the waters in his clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their weight. he covers the face of the full moon, spreading his clouds over it. he marks out the horizon on the face of the waters for a boundary between light and darkness. the pillars of the heavens quake, aghast his rebuke. by his power he churned up the sea; by his wisdom he cut rahab to pieces. by his breath the skies became fair; his hand pierced the gliding serpent. and these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! who then can understand the thunder of his power?"
.
miss grace hit my life on the head with this one today: "though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet i will rejoice in the lord, i will be joyful in god my savior.' (habakkuk 3:17-18)
